What is the Soft Launch?#

The soft launch is the beginning of Secret Shop opening on a more regular schedule.
It is not a grand opening.
The space is still being built, improved, and adjusted over time. Some parts are finished, 
some are still changing, and the schedule may continue to evolve based on what works for the community.
 
 


During this period, Secret Shop will be open for: 
* Regular weekday Open Shop hours
* Casual project work
* Game development, programming, art, music, hardware, and creative projects
* Playing games and hanging out
* Small weekend events
* Testing future event formats

During Open Shop hours, I will usually be at Secret Shop working on my own projects.

You are welcome to bring your own project, laptop, sketchbook, hardware, software, game prototype, board game, or anything else you are working on.

You can also just come by, play games, talk with people, or see the space.

No formal program is planned during regular Open Shop hours unless announced separately.

What Can I Do During Open Shop?#

Open Shop is a relaxed drop-in time.

You can use the space to:

• Work on a game or software project
• Draw, animate, write, compose, or design
• Build or test hardware projects
• Ask questions
• Meet other creators
• Share something you are working on
• Play games
• Study or practice a tool
• Find collaborators
• Hang out in a creative environment

You do not need to be a professional developer or artist.

You do not need to bring a finished project.

Curiosity is enough.

Secret Shop is for people who enjoy making things.
 


Game development is one of the main entry points, but the space is open to many kinds of creators, including:

Private Bookings#

Outside of Open Shop hours and scheduled events, Secret Shop may also be available for private use.

Private bookings are intended for creative, technical, educational, and maker-focused groups whose activities fit the spirit of the Secret Shop community.

Examples include:

• Team meetings
• Study groups
• Creative workshops
• Game development teams
• Art or animation sessions
• Hardware projects
• Board game design groups
• Language exchange for creators
• Film, 3D, or animation groups
